A day that felt heavy.
I woke up with too many thoughts. The anthropology's getting to me.
Last night just before bed I read a paper on how Native Americans were treated on reservations in the 1800s, and then another by Malinowski that made my flesh crawl with its sneering paternalism.
Scrawled this in the diary while eating breakfast: "if we could talk to birds we'd probably lecture them on how to fly."
Walking to work in the sunshine helped, but I still felt cloudy all day.
