Went for a walk. Made a friend:
It was such a beautiful colour, iridescent green and shimmering in the sun.
Saw a birb; he was nice, shouting loudly at the rooftops and listening intently to the replies:
Chased a green woodpecker around a cemetery, trying to get a photo. Didn't manage it, but then noticed a great spotted woodpecker cavorting around almost right under my nose:
Found a sign for those two famous opposing compass points:
And treated myself to an ice cream (hokey pokey; not pictured).
I still haven't written the essay.
